He works exclusively on serious and complex felonies\u2014particularly homicide and other high-exposure cases\u2014and is known for disciplined case analysis, aggressive witness development, and evidence-driven reporting that strengthens the defense. He is highly respected by his peers and by defense attorneys for rigorous discovery review, methodical fact development, and delivering clear, attorney-ready work product aimed at advancing favorable defense outcomes. He is also widely regarded as a seasoned resource on Hispanic gang dynamics and culture, including issues commonly implicated in gang allegations and enhancement litigation.<\/p><p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"1471\">Through Pretrial Investigations, he and his team conduct major-felony investigations for retained and court-appointed counsel\u2014locating and interviewing civilian and law-enforcement witnesses, securing statements, building timelines, and coordinating with experts and mitigation professionals when appropriate.<\/p><p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"2386\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Jody is a graduate of the California Defense Investigators Training Academy and has completed Advanced Homicide Defense Training through California Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
